Opus 130 is pleased to present “Whimsical”, a solo exhibition of Japanese artist Nene Tatsumi.
Nene Tatsumi draws inspiration from traditional Japanese artworks as well as manga and anime. She has participated in gallery exhibitions in Japan, Germany, Italy and the Luxembourg Art Fair.
Tatsumi is the recipient of many awards including Gakuten Art Prize, Japan, (2017), Women Artists Association Japan Art Prize (2018), Nika Association Art Prize, Japan (2018), Collector’s Vision International Art Award (2021), Powers of Creativity Art Prize (2021), Voices of Tomorrow Art Award (2021), and the Faces of The Peace Art Prize by Contemporary Art Curators Magazine (2021).
She has been featured in and exhibited by publications such as CorArt magazine, Contemporary Art Curator Magazine, Contemporary Art Collectors Magazine.
She obtained her Bachelor of Laws (LLB) from Keio University in Japan and Master of Law degree at the Sorbonne University DSU in France. She studied Art at the P.I. Art Centre in New York and is currently completing her Master of Fine Arts (MFA) at the Tokyo University, where she received the prestigious O-shi Scholarship Prize.
